Unusual Event Captured on Night Vision – “Shooting Star” Followed by Rising Lights (North-Northwest Sky)
I wanted to share something strange I captured with a stationary night vision camera recently. The video starts with what looks like a shooting star or object falling from the sky into the ground. It descends quickly and vanishes near the horizon.

What’s odd is what happens next: from roughly the same area where it appeared to “land,” a series of white lights begin rising upward. In total, I counted about 17 lights emerging over the span of a few minutes. They weren’t in a perfect line, nor did they follow the same path — some brightened and faded as they rose.

Context and Setup:
	•	Camera was a basic night vision model mounted on a tripod.
	•	Field of view: ~10 degrees.
	•	Pointed at ~340° azimuth (NNW) with an inclination of ~11°.
	•	The lights appear to rise from the horizon, gradually moving upward through the narrow field.

Time: May 3rd, 2025 11:56pm ct
Location: Omaha, NE

I live in the city, there is light pollution. These objects appear brighter than the brightest stars. 

I was not able to this to match up with satellites in Stellarium.
