UAP Sighting near Denver, Colorado
The last few days, I’ve seen an uptick in probable drone activity near the Rocky Mountain foothills. There’s a lot of hobbyists in the area, so I haven’t thought too much of it. 

Today, as I was heading home, I noticed some lights appear to hover near the freeway (intersection of C-470 and U.S.-285), west/southwest of Denver. I kept an eye on the location of the lights. When I got home, first thing I did was boot up FR24. There was nothing at all remotely in the area. I went out in my backyard and watched the lights circle the 470/285 interchange for 30 minutes. It flew the same exact circle over the freeways 5-6 times. It appeared to have the standard airplane running lights, one green, one red, a couple white. When it approached at the closest part of its loop, I thought it sounded like a drone, but the sound was much deeper. I also found it curious that a long train of Starlink satellites went over the same area at the same time as the UAP/ drone. 

After failing to take any good video, I went inside to grab a telephoto lens and see what I could spot. When I came back out of the house, there was a military helicopter flying through the spot the drone was moments before. It was only running one red light, but it was loud and obviously a military helicopter. The drone/UAP was gone. The helicopter did a wide circle around the area, coming overhead again about 5 minutes later. It headed off east (towards Buckley) and didn’t return. The drone/UAP also did not reappear. The helicopter also was not visible on FR24. 

For some context. I live SW of Denver, near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We are nearby not only Denver International Airport, but also close to two smaller airports: Rocky Mountain Metropolitan and Centennial Airport. We also get a lot of flights out of Buckley Space Force Base. Lockheed Martin also has a HUGE factory down the street. Lots of aircraft use the foothills for training and navigation. We hear planes practicing stalls over the lake nearby daily. I also enjoy checking out the ISS as it goes over, and keep up on Starlink and other interesting space stuff I might see. 

In short, we have a lot of interesting stuff flying over our house: F-16s, F-35s, A-10s, tankers, firefighting planes and helicopters, all manner of military helicopters, private planes, crop dusters, you name it. Fighters always circle our area before Broncos games as well, warming up before blasting up the South Platte river to kickoff the game. Between FR24 and visual IDs, I’ve gotten pretty used to it. It can be fun spotting all the crazy stuff day to day. 

These UAPs/drones the last week are different. Much larger than my neighbor’s hobby drones. Similar sound but much lower and somehow muted. Running lights similar to small planes. Very exact circling pattern. 

Anyhow, I thought the military “chasing off” one of these UAP warranted posting about it. If there’s any more in the next few days, I’ll try and get a better video.
