Description of sighting: I was smoking in my garden yesterday just before 19:00. It was overcast and was slightly raining but no thunder or lightning. I was turned away and looking down when everything around me lit up in a pale green light, it was very bright and lasted for about a second.

 I turned around, looked up and immediately saw a big section of the clouds light up very brightly for about a second in the same pale green colour. I actually stood there in shock for a second waiting to see if I could hear any thunder that would explain the flash I just saw but there was nothing. I should add this this did not look like lightning to me at all and didn’t light up the surroundings the same way that lightning does. 

I quickly pulled my phone out to start recording and just waited for about 10 minutes to see if I could catch it again. At around the 10 minute mark I captured what you see here. It didn’t seem as bright to me as the first one and was slightly to the right (from my perspective) of where I saw the first one. 

If anyone has any ideas for what this might be I would love to hear them. I’m sure one of you will ruin my excitement with a plausible explanation 🤣
