Time: December 12th at 8pm - 9pm 

Location: Washington Heights, 190th street facing East overlooking the Bronx. 10 blocks up from the GWB. Location screenshot in video. 


I did a little bit more work on the video and pushed in further on the clips in post. I will provide an alternate link in comments for all of the wide shots no cropping. 


I live about 10 block up from the George Washington Bridge in NYC. My apartment overlooks the Bronx ( I am on the 5th floor but my building is on stilts on a cliff side so we are fairly high up ) and I frequently see planes and helicopters flying overhead at all hours of the day. Since the drone incursion has been ramping up, I’ve been keeping my eye on the sky. I decided to film tonight to capture what I’m seeing. I believe I am seeing a UAV style drone, like a miniature plane, except it appears to be hovering or hitting a stationary mark every so often for about 30-45 minutes of filming. 

I am a filmmaker, I shoot on the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K pro — it is NOT designed for low light capabilities. This camera is a light needing beast for best quality images. My footage is very grainy. It is filmed in 6k resolution and exported / uploaded in 4k resolution. Filmed with a 125mm lens. 

I filmed helicopters and planes for reference in the beginning and then what I believe to be the UAV style drone. I zoomed in a few times in post with some stabilization and included some zoomed in clips in the end. 

I filmed this around 8pm - 9pm tonight ( Dec. 12th 2024 ). 

I have a set of high powered binoculars that I used while I wasn’t filming to get a better look and I could make out the shape of the craft, it appeared to look like the shape of a plane or these UAV style drones and seemed to be a lighter color, maybe white? 

The movement of the craft leads me to believe it is a drone of some sort, otherwise it appeared the shape of a plane.
