“Drone” sighting over Staten Island, NY
Time: Nov 30, 6:01 pm est. Location: Staten Island NY by Verrazano Bridge.
My son recorded the video from the backyard. He tried to stabilize it by resting phone on the table. He had to readjust midway, so this is the best we got.
The object was flying NW to SE from NJ towards Brooklyn NY. It was brighter than your typical satellite. Right before this video was taken he tried to take another one of passing ISS, so he had his phone already out when this showed up.
I usually try to remain skeptical, but the sudden uptick in cases makes me look up more ofter now. Does anyone have a recommendation for entry level equipment to see these things closer? I know our telescope wouldn’t work, alignment in such a short time would be impossible.
I was thinking maybe use a laser on it next time  we see it but not sure if it is a good idea /s.
