Jagged and glowing plasma meteor suddenly changes course, and accelerates northward incredibly fast.

Looking northeast right after twilight, I observed a glowing jagged plasma ball streaking towards earth at a 45 degree angle.  It was bluish white, green, and had an outline of orange and appeared to be glowing plasma.  It materialized instantly as if growing from a small point to a large object in a nano second.  
I thought it was a meteor and braced for impact about two miles north of my location, when suddenly four white orbs shot out and it made a sudden turn to the north and shot into the forward horizon incredibly fast and disappearing from view.  In that moment it looked like an actual spaceship as it turned and shot off, and resembled a rectangle with four glowing engines.  
The electric glow was very pretty and absolutely beautiful. 
I know this was April first, but for what its worth, I really saw this and it was awesome to see.
We spoke via telephone with the witness, and we found him to be quite serious-minded.  PD
