Highway 1 Mile 36 nine lights observed.

While driving North on Alaska Highway 1 at 8:49PM, I seen what I thought was a radio tower that had red lights, abouts 2 miles in front of me.  I thought to myself when did someone build a huge tower out here by the Y junction?  I was confused with what I was looking at while trying to drive on the icy road.
As I approached closer I then observed that there was no tower and just 9 red lights that were aligned in a row vertically.  My first impression was someone is setting Chinese flying lanterns.  I then began to observe the lights were moving about & 8 turned color to a amber orange color.
I noticed another vehicle coming my direction in opposite lane. I slowed to about 25mph and pulled towards the shoulder of the highway.
When the vehicle passed I then thought about getting my cell phone and stopping to take pictures or video.  I changed my mind because I had my 2 children asleep in their car seats. So I kept driving slowly, and and kept looking at the lights which are now within 400 yards of my van.
I remember looking at my dash display and it read -1 degrees outside. Visibility was unlimited and it was cold and clear out.  I could see the stars out & these lights were definitely not stars.  These lights were not drones. I've seen drones and it was below zero.  Who would be flying 9 drones in frigid weather anyway I thought.
As I passed the lights, I noticed a red light just above the trees that began to travel upwards moving in a intelligent manner among the other amber orange lights.  I kept driving until I got to a pullout at the Y junction.
I got out of my van and looked at the direction I came from.  Now I can only see 1 red light that is going vertically up into the night sky.  I lost track of it and then got back inside my vehicle.
I then called my family in Seward and described to them what I just seen.  My sister was going to check Facebook to see if any one else put it online.
I counted 5 other vehicles coming and going during this period.  Another black pickup was parked above me and what appeared to be viewing this also.
I continued North towards Anchorage and I haven't heard of any one else making a report of the lights that night.
