White light passing W to E overhead, like an airplane, but not one.

Have recently started taking brief walks before sunrise.  Because the air was exceptionally clear this morning, I stopped to look at the sky, and noticed a white light moving on a steady straight line approximately W to E.  The speed was similar to a plane passing high overhead, but it didn’t appear to be a plane, and I did not hear any sound as I watched it, or for a few seconds later.  It was a non-blinking white light, or tight grouping of lights.  At one point when it was directly overhead, it seemed to be shaped like a small elongated triangle.
 I checked my cell phone for the time, 5:43, but did not attempt to take a photo.  Later I used the Plane Finder website, which did not show any nearby plane flight paths at the time I saw this light.  Perhaps it was a passing satellite.
