Spherical light changing from bright to dull.

At approximately 5:45pm outside my house, talking to a friend, i noticed a flicker of light approximately 65°NE and about 70° of elevation in the sky, which got brighter. So I kept my eyes on it while I was talking to my friend who asked what I was looking at. I told him while feeling embarrassed because I know that people normally think you're a fruit cake for even bringing the subject up, and although I let him go through what it could be, he came to the same conclusion. Going from light to dull it travelled 5°E stopped and approx 10° in elevation, we watched for about 25 minutes before having to go to a prior appointment and I also caught sum what of a video on my phone, please excuse for any bad language I do apologise.
