2 sets of blinking red lights pass very close to eachother

Out on deck, looking at stars. Notice cluster of dk red lights coming towards my area ( from the south). Figured it was a plane- started to hear engine. I look around & there's a 3 light , red cluster coming from north, over my shoulder. Silent. Went towards other craft(plane?) , then veered and flew directly beside it then continued to the south. Those 2 craft seemed way too close. I held my arm out & measured with my fingers at arms length, & those 2 craft weren't even 2"apart. No clue how close that would be up there, but either way, that was way too close.
