We saw a white dot in the blue sky that stayed still for a prolonged period of time.

Three of us were eating dinner outside after our town's summer festival parade on July 15, 2022, and we saw a bright, white dot just staying still high in the sky just about overhead, but a bit toward the east. It did appear to move southerly, but just very, very slowly, and not like it was being blown by the wind. We were curious about it enough to want to get home to see if we could see it with a telescope, but by the time we got home, we couldn't see the dot anymore.
When I saw the video of the recent Chinese spy balloon over Montana, I thought it looked like what we saw last summer.
