NARRATIVE

Looked like a fireball stationary or slowly falling from the sky near O’Hare. Saw a commercial plane flying north out of ORD ahead of object. Object looked either stationary or slowly descending. Fireball-like with a tail. Moments later another commercial plane passed the object northbound. When I zoomed in on my camera, a distinct jet trail moved away from object in the southwest direction. I took pictures while waiting for the traffic light to change. My total view time was around 4 minutes, then continued home east down willow road.
