I noticed two stars close together. One vanished and then this bowl shaped object appeared.

I was observing the sky and I noticed two stars were really close to each other. Roughly two inches apart. One of the stars then disappered and was replaced by a bowl shaped object that was flying in all directions at such high speeds I couldn't see it move.
