1963, summer, daytime, small oval object with dome & maze-like bottom sailed noiselessly over my head

1963. (Can I report?) I'm only 10 y.o., daytime, probably summer. Austin, Texas.
Playing chasing running tumbling outside with cousins & neighborhood kids, caught sight of an object coming toward me, stopped, watched it sail toward me slowly & just over my head, noiselessly (maybe just the slightest of a hum), & flew on down the neighborhood street until I could no longer see it, straight line.
It was small, dark grey, oval, metallic, thicker more squarish sides, with a dome on top. No lights, no windows, no noise, no wind or electrical effects felt underneath as it passed just above my head, I just stood gaping, following it with my eyes, just a foot or so, above my head!
The underside was very maze-like.
It sailed on down the neighborhood street until I could no longer see it, although I strained to follow it with my eyes.
No thought of yelling to other kids, Hey! Look! Or of running after it, to follow it, just kind of stunned, I guess. Took about 45, 60 seconds the whole incident.
None of the other kids seemed to notice it!

Life went on, maybe other "things" paranormal. Finally started researching heavily upon hearing Karla Turner on the radio, 1990s. It all came flooding back! Someone actually talking publicly about UFOs!
Eventually, I wrote Jacques Vallee a long letter including other paranormal experiences; he sent me an autographed card.
Then, I began helping Cheyenne Turner of the Eclectic Viewpoint (friend of Lucius Ferris, RIP), typesetting her mail-out announcements for speakers in Plano north of Dallas, big lectures; I met Timothy Good & others (RIP Cheyenne, 1997/8), & we attended Ozarks conf 2x.
Got busy teaching, but I'm now retired some years, and I am once again curious & researching a project, having to do with Betty& Barney Hill's case, I have a theory & this case, my best evidence. So, I'm rereading old & new books. (Desousa's recent book has wrong date for their event! P. 47! Inexcusable, my degree is in history & English & studies in history of science, lol).
But I know . . . I feel . . .that my experience was for something I am to do. A theory I have... has led me to believe Betty Hill's "map" was not a zeta reticulum star system. It is something totally different, totally different.
And if I'm right . . . .
Even your sightings, Mr. Davenport, the dates are very interesting. Details like dates, times, colors, are important in my analyses of these things. The work you do, important.
