Flew from north to south going much faster than our cruise ship was traveling.

Looking to the east from our ships balcony. Object appeared north of us as bright "fireworks". Flew in and out of clouds gaining on the ship. When it was right in front of us, the colors faded and a grey metallic cylinder appeared. Nose of it was shaking from the friction of its entry into the atmosphere with white "trailings" coming from it.. It passed us flying behind a cloud and that's it. No splashdown, no noise ... we never saw it again. Probably 100's of miles from us, yet to us it was the size of a planes fuselage as they land a block from us where we live right by an airport, sans the wings and deafening noise of a jets engine . We thought we were getting attacked and neither of us thought of actually getting a video of it. I've contacted a government agency that deals with rockets and they told me to let you know.. Description of circumstance? Star lit sky with intermittent clouds. 2 sober and straight old ( 55 and 66) ladies enjoying looking east from our balcony on a cruise ship. Light from our room was on, so it was not hard to see the water, thousands of stars and partial moon every now and then. Whole encounter took no more than 2 mins.picture is the sky in front of us.
