Heard loud crash and then saw object fly by.

I was sound asleep, probably about nine in the morning and was awakened by a very loud crash noise. I live near a fighter jet training Air Force base so I am used to loud planes flying over quite often - sometimes very low. This noise was much louder!! Honestly, it sounded like a crash.
I jumped out of bed and ran to the window and saw what looked like a missile flying by. It was bullet shaped, metallic looking silver gray, and moving quite slow at a very slight decline. It was flying at about my eye level from the house and then disappeared into the trees.
I waited to report this because I thought people would think that I am crazy. I have never seen anything like this before in my entire life. I hope this information is helpful.
