small sphere traveling across sky shot up into clouds and disappeared

I was in my backyard, talking to my father on the phone. I looked toward the western sky, because my dad wanted to know if it looked like it was going to rain.(He lives in Tucson which is 100 miles from my house) I noticed a small object headed toward me, which means it was headed east. It was about 5-6 feet in diameter. It had a dark reddish gray color. It was not luminous. It was traveling slow about 50-60 mph. The sphere did not jerk while it was flying. It flew in a very straight line toward my house. It appeared to be 400-500 ft high. There was no wind so it was not a balloon.  It turned north in a 45 degree angle about
