On 7-9-2001 i was driving home from a friends house in Mapillville Road Island. I was 1000 feet from my driveway. There was a clearing of trees in front of a small lake across the street from my house. I saw a round orange/ yellow light in the sky. It looked as if it was burning. I was driving WNW the clearing of trees and the lake was to my right which was WSW. the object was moving in a WSW direction. It was moving relatively slow in a straight line parallel to the Harrison. When I first saw the object it was right over head, so I stopped the vehicle and told my wife to look at it. I asked, " DO YOU SEE THAT TOO?" " YES," she replied.

I pulled in to my drive way and got out of the car.  We both keped watching it.  It was still moving in the same direction at the same speed.  It's hard to tell the height of the object but if I had to guess I would say 2500 to 3000 feet.  But I cant say for shore.  
The object was still moving away from us.  I would say it was a mile away from us when it flickered once and then the light just went out.  During this time there was no sound of any kind, and no other aircraft in the surrounding area. 
I would just like to say i have never in my life seen something like this.  I've seen shooting stares, sat-alights in orbit but this was none of the above.
