Very Bright, Star-Like, Light in sky.

My wife was coming home from the store when she called me on the phone and told me to go outside to look at something she saw in the sky as she was pulling in the driveway. I walked outside and looked up and immediately saw a bright light in the sky. It was at least twice as bright and twice as big as Jupiter currently appears to be in the sky. It was at a roughly 55 to 60 degree angle and I was facing to the North-West. By non-military time it was 7:54 P.M. EST.
It appeared to be stationary, very bright, and at first very star-like. As we were watching the light we noticed it was moving slowly towards the horizon. I went inside and got my mother and grandmother to both come outside to see it as well. The object got brighter and seemed to pulsate with a brightness and shine to it. We watched the light descend out of view appearing to drop down below the horizon.
From the time I first walked outside and saw the bright light to the time it went below the horizon I viewed the light for at least ten to fifteen minutes.  There was other traffic in the air and I noticed at least one commercial air-liner heading toward Daytona International Airport. From my perspective the light we were looking at seemed to be much higher than the commercial traffic heading toward Daytona.
Between my wife and I we took a total of 10 pictures with a Nikon Coolpix P100 with a 26x zoom. All of the pictures show a bright star-like object.
