Circular shape became visible around 7:15 Mountain time and was pure white and as time went by it became a dark brilliant red almost like a red from coals in a fire and then turned gray about 45 minutes later.

We suspect that the object was a hig-altitude, helium-filled balloon.  One was reported to have been released from Ft. Sumner in New Mexico.
